Growing Readers Phonics Bible

I recently discovered this book. I read about it in the Heart of Wisdom and decided to check it out from my local library to see if it was worth purchasing. So far, we are really enjoying it. The special feature of the book is that each bible story has a special "star sound." The star sound is shown in red and sound is used in an example word. Then each time that sound is found in a word in the story, it is highlighted in red. This seems like a good way to reinforce our phonics lessons.

The stories are written in a cute rhyming fashion. I like them, but I wouldn't consider this my first choice for a bible story book. I prefer the way that The Beginners Bible is written. I also wouldn't use this alone for phonics training. However, this is a great reader to supplement the bible stories and phonics at the same time and I am seriously considering adding it to our home library.

Resurrecting the Blog

As you can see by looking at it, I haven't been actively using this blog for about a year. Since I have been working at revamping and rejuvenating our homeschool, I thought this would be a good place to share what God is leading me to and thoughts on our homeschool. This way I won't cog up my regular blog with a bunch of homeschool stuff that not everyone is interested in.
